Here's a bulletin board that I did for my K-1 program last year. It was a fish/ocean/beach themed program and the title song was called "O O O Let's Go... Overboard!" So, I took some dark blue fabric, put it up, added in all the words and some die-cut ocean animals that I found at Dollar Tree (I can't sing the praises of this place enough... cheap and awesome teacher stuff!). Then before I put up my border (again there was this awesome ocean/fish bulletin board border at, you guessed it, Dollar Tree!) I put some light blue netting over top of half of the board. It gave it an ocean effect and made it slightly more fun and tactile for the kids. They loved it! The netting stuff was super cheap at Hobby Lobby and was used again later in the year for a rain effect. Bam! Awesome and cheap!
